Follow Your Bliss

They say that necessity is the mother of all invention, but I have come to learn that is only half-true. The way I see it you can get to the same place traveling the road of passion without having to reach the point of necessity or suffering. When it comes to Pain vs. Passion, you can either hit rock bottom to wake up your genius or you can just follow your heart.

It could be as simple as if you don’t love something don’t do it. When you force yourself to do things you don’t want to, you’re actually conditioning yourself to being ok with experiencing that, conforming to a mediocre standard. But when you get used to doing what you love more often, you are re-wiring your brain to get used to the experience of this vibration and thus you will only be aware of opportunities in your environment to attract more of it into your every day life. Whether it’s advancing your career or deepening a relationship, you will be more aware of the opportunities to experience the things you love through the channels you choose because now your subconscious mind is wired to look for them.

Aristotle
So why follow what you love? One word – character. To do what you love requires you to be vulnerable, to trust and be brave. Believe me, I know it seems convincing to stay at your job to pay your bills, or remain in that comfortable relationship even though you’re unhappy, and I’m not by any means asking you to jump off a cliff unless you know your certain you can fly, but I’m just here to tell you that one way or another you’re going to have a reality check. Life is going to keep presenting you with the things that conflict with your heart’s true desires until you do something about it and make a change. You can have what you want but you must first be honest and decided upon it.

Vincent Van Gogh Quote
Then you have to ask yourself, “How bad do I want this?” The answer to this question will determine whether you succeed or fail, because unless you want it so bad that you’d be willing to drop anything at the drop of a hat for it, it won’t come. You can’t kind-of-want something, there is no half-assery in this universe, so first get clear on your core desires. When you’re clear, immerse yourself in the experience of having it before it even comes. Get excited about it, stretch your imagination so much that the potentials seem too good to be true, be confident about emotionally investing yourself in it, to want it more just get pumped up about it – then see what happens. Watch for the signs and act on the opportunities that come thereafter. Sometimes with the dominant survival mentality of this world it’s easy to get obsessed with wanting to control the outcome of everything, but when we can just let go and trust while remaining positive, passionate and hopeful, that’s when things start to happen. That takes incredible inner strength, that takes character.
